Why teach children music? To help channel their spontaneity and creativity into musical expression.
Through music, children learn to express themselves outside of language,
​connect with others creatively, find calm and collectivity, and nurture their imagination.

Lessons are anything but standard.

It's not just about playing through each song in a book. Singing, movement, and rhythm clapping are integral to lessons. Drawing out our musical progress on a colorful treasure map, island by island, playing music memory card games to learn the names of the notes, those are ways to inspire and energize young musicians. Improvisation and creative expression are always encouraged!
 
Through these methods, we learn proper intonation, posture, and sight reading, and utilize classical techniques like scales, position shifts, and double-stops. This equips the student with the tools needed to become an excellent violinist -- but, more importantly, your child will enjoy the process of learning and can develop a lifelong love of music.
 
I put a strong emphasis as well on music theory. Music theory is a beautiful language used for further communication between musicians – it’s not just a nuisance. And it can be enjoyable to learn!

Styles of music incorporated into lessons may include: Classical, Jazz, Blues, & Improvisation, Americana/Bluegrass/Folk, Celtic, Flamenco, Tango, European Folk, and much more.
